JONESBORO – The family of state Rep. Jon Hubbard of Jonesboro says he has suffered a mild heart attack.
A statement released Monday through the Arkansas Republican Party said Hubbard went to a hospital in Jonesboro on Saturday after experiencing chest pains. According to the statement, initial tests showed no heart attack, but he was hospitalized overnight and more tests were conducted. The statement said blood-enzyme tests showed Hubbard had suffered a mild heart attack.
The family said Hubbard underwent a heart catheterization Monday to check for and correct any blockages, and doctors also installed a stent.
They said that, after a short period of recovery, Hubbard plans to return to work in the House, which is currently in session.
