Microsoft launched Bing application for iPad, and the app is now available for free download on the Apple iTunes Store. This feature rich, visually stunning app displays weather, news, maps, movies information, and search trends on its home screen, offering users a completely new, image-focused way to explore the web.
The app is designed to be touch friendly making it easy for a user to quickly navigate between search results and websites. The trends feature is exclusive to the Bing for iPad app, and offers users a visual display of popular searches at the moment. The app also includes a voice activated search powered by Microsoft Tellme, and a visual way to see what is playing in the nearby theaters.
Bing Local and Map integration provides users with different map views, such as road, aerial and bird’s-eye helping them find destinations they are looking for. It also provides real-time traffic information.
The autosuggest feature is designed to make search easier as it refines users’ search by providing suggestions based on their recent search history. When searching for a popular topic, Bing will place the most relevant answer at the top together with quick links.
Weather feature lets users stay informed with weather alerts and 10-day or hourly forecasts for their current location. Using the Save Location feature, users can save up to five cities and quickly access weather report for their favorite locations.
